Flag Protocol for World Mission Sunday
9:00 Flag Bearers: Report to Chapel of the Cross no later than 8:45 AM.
11:00 Flag Bearers: Report to Chapel of the Cross no later than 10:45 AM.
Timing is critical, be punctual! Back up persons should also go to the Chapel of the Cross in case they are needed. Heather Nelson will supervise line-up for procession.
Flag Bearers will begin processing after the choir. Try to hold your flags at the same angle, walk single file, evenly spaced, in the following order: American, Episcopal, Compass Rose, El Salvador, Honduras, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania (alphabetically for our mission partners).
We will process down the center aisle behind the choir. We will walk to the crossing at the base of the stairs, each pause before the cross but DO NOT bow our heads, turn left and proceed around and out the left front door, and leave our flags in the Chapel of the Cross. We can return to the service and sit on the side bench with the acolytes - or not return to the service. If you do not stay for the whole service, you need to be ALERT to re-join the group outside the Chapel of the Cross in time for the Recessional.
To prepare to process out of the service with the flags, we will line up outside the Chapel of the Cross after communion and after the Eucharistic visitor part of the service. We will follow the choir out. Again, we should pause before the cross and then turn and follow the choir. Our pause should create some space between us and the choir.
After the 9:00 service, please return your flags to the Chapel of the Cross.
After the 11:00 service, return your flags to the Acolyte/Flag Rm off of the Old Narthex.
10:10 AM Please join Heather Nelson and Bishop Barahona for Men’s Council Pancake Breakfast in dining room. $7
